The 'Menu' means a list of commands or options displayed on the screen and 'Menu Delay' means the time it take to show the list of options. Like in Windows when you right-click it will open a menu which takes some milliseconds to display, it is called as 'Menu Delay'. You can speed up or speed down the delay time in windows. If you want the menu to come faster, you can decrease the time of menu delay, also if you want to speed down the menu delay you can increase the delay time. To do this, we have to edit the 'Registry Editor' and change the value of menu delay.
Change the Menu Delay Speed
Follow the below steps to change the Menu speed in Windows:-
1 Open Registry Editor ( Press 'Windows Key + R' and type 'regedit' into the Run field, and click 'OK' or press 'Enter' to open the 'Registry Editor'.)
2 If computer asks, Do you want to allow following program to make changes to this computer? then Press 'OK' and Registry editor will open.
3 Now in Registry Editor, go to Computer>HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Control Panel > Desktop as shown in the below image-
4 When you Click on 'Desktop' option, a list will display on the right side. Now in the right side scroll down and locate "MenuShowDelay".
5 After finding the it, double- click on 'MenuShowDelay' and a pop-up window will appear named 'Edit String', in which you can change the Menu delay time.
6 In the 'Edit String' window as shown in the above image, there is a value data in which the value is 400 i.e. 400 miliseconds. The 400 milliseconds is the default value by windows, now to make the MenuDelay quick and faster, change the value to 0 and click 'OK'. You can put the desired value you want, (the value is in milliseconds, so put according to that, like for 1 second the value should be 1000 i.e. 1000 miliseconds.)
7 Now after changing the value and clicking 'OK', you have to Restart your Computer to make the changes to come in effect.
8 So, now you know how to change the speed of Menu delay. You can do prank with your friends if they don't know about this ☺☺.
