Sometimes we want to copy text from Command prompt but are enable to do so, because by default Windows do not allow users to copy text and paste it in CMD or to copy text from Command prompt and paste it elsewhere. But we can enable copy and paste in Command Prompt, as there is an option in CMD itself to enable Copy & Paste Text in Windows Command Prompt. By enabling it we copy or paste things or commands in Command Prompt. Read below about, 'how to enable copying and pasting texts in Windows Command prompt'.
Enable Copy Paste in Command Prompt
1 Open Command Prompt ( Press 'Windows Key + R' and type 'cmd' into the Run field, and press 'Enter' to open the 'Command Prompt' or you can click on 'Start' and search 'cmd' and open cmd/command prompt from search result.)
2 Right Click on the Title of the Command prompt i.e. Top of CMD window and Select Properties from the options as shown in below image-
3 When you select Properties, a pop-up window will come up. Now just check Quick Edit Mode Under Edit Options and Click OK.
4 That's it! Now the Copy and Paste is enabled in the command prompt, just Select the texts you want to copy from CMD and do a Right click and the text will be copied. Paste the text anywhere you want.
5 And if you want to paste Commands in Command prompt then just Right click in the CMD and the copied text will be pasted in the Command prompt. (when the quick edit mode is enabled).
6 So, now you can copy things from CMD and paste it any where you want. And you can paste copied texts in CMD like if you want to type any command and it is long which if typed can get errors, you can just paste it.
