By using HTML or Meta tag you can verify your ownership of your site. I will you about, 'How to verify Site or Blog with Google Web master Tools (Google Search Console)'. You can use this method to verify your site, Blog (Blogger) with other Webmasters Tools, Pinterest etc.
One of the most powerful tools a website owner has at their disposal is Google WebMaster Tools (Google Search Console). This is a free service that Google offers to help site or blog owners optimize their sites for search engine rankings as well as detecting issues and unknown errors that may be present on the site.
Verifying Your Site or Blog with Google Search Console -
Verify your Site ownership with Google Search Console using a header code meta tag. Once you add the code, Google identifies you as the domain owner.
To verify your site or blog ownership with Google Search Console follow the below steps :-
1. Go to Google Search Console
2. Sign In or create an account if you do not have one already.
3. Enter your site domain and click on 'Add a Property'.
4. You will now be taken to the "Verify Your Site" page. This is where you will be able to select the verification method to use. Google gives you five options to verify your ownership, but the most common is Meta tag - which we will be concentrating on here. So, click on HTML tag (Add a meta tag to your site's home page).
5. When you click on HTML Tag, Google will provide you with a code that will need to be placed on your site's main header. And When you verify the site with Google, they will look at the site and reference this specific coding to complete the process.
6. Now select and copy the code provided.
7. To verify your ownership. Go to your Site's Editor and Edit HTML.
8. By using Ctrl+F, search for the following code in your template’s code- </head>
9. After finding </head> , paste the Meta tag code above it.
10. Now Save the Template or page. This will save the meta tag code in your site.
11. Go back to Google Search Console and Click Verify.
Click on Continue and that take you to the Dashboard.
